Why should a driver ensure that emergency exit signage remains visible and legible, not covered by advertising or other decals?

Pick an answer

1. Exit signage is purely decorative and has no functional requirement
2. This concern applies only to signage located above the main entrance door
3. Advertising placement near exit signage has no effect on passenger safety, since most passengers are assumed to already know where the exits are
4. Passengers need to be able to quickly identify exit locations during an emergency without confusion
